| The British Council is looking for an Assistant Director Programmes to be based in Algiers. This post will join a small, committed and flexible team to take forward the British Council’s work in English and Society. You will report directly to the Director and will help develop and lead implementation of existing and new projects. You will play a key role in building relationships with Algerian and UK partners. You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative as well as being a part of a small team in Algeria and a wider regional team across the Middle East and North Africa. You will have a strong background in project management, preferably in Education, English and, or Society. You will be a good organiser and have excellent networking skills. While this post is set at a senior level, you will also be willing to carry out quite ordinary tasks. You will have a good business sense and be able to spot opportunities for the British Council to obtain support and sponsorship. You will speak and write well in English, Arabic and French. Starting salary will be DZD 140,000 gross - Indefinite contract.
